Frank Foster (born January 22, 1982 in Cypress Bottom , Louisiana ) is an American country and country rock singer.

biography

Frank Foster was influenced by his family: his father, who played the music of Hank Williams , and his grandfather, who preferred Waylon Jennings and Southern rock . During his college days he began to write and perform his own music. He worked on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico for a while before he decided to become a musician. He made a name for himself with gigs in Louisiana, Texas and Alabama. In 2011 he produced his first album Rowdy Reputation on his own. Even after that, he decided to stay independent and not join any label.

After the debut album sold well locally, he released Red Wings and Six Strings a year later . This was the first time he entered the US country and indie charts. This was followed every year by the albums Southern Soul , with which he also made it into the official album charts , and Rhythm and Whiskey , his most successful album to date with number 4 in the country and number 21 in the official charts. It sold more than 10,000 times. For the publication he had started his own label Lone Chief Records .

The next album Boots on the Ground was released a little late in early 2016, Good Country Music followed in the same year. It was the first album in which some songs were co-written, otherwise he had written all of his songs by himself. Musically he continued to orientate himself on his roots, the outlaw music of the 1970s and the rock influences of country rock and southern rock. Although it remained well placed in the country and independent charts, it missed the top 100 of the album charts. In 2017 he took a break, but even with his seventh album 'Til I'm Gone he could no longer reach his best placings.
