Kinga Dunin, actually Kinga Dunin-Horkawicz (born April 25, 1954 in Łódź ) is a Polish literary critic , prose writer and publicist .

Life

Dunin attended high school in Łódź from 1969. After graduating from high school in 1973, she studied cultural sociology at the University of Łódź , where she obtained her master's degree in 1977 . In 1977 she started working with the Obrony Robotników Comitet and the Niezależna Oficyna Wydawnicza . She also took part in the organization of the Uniwersytet Latający ( Flying University ) and the Studencki Komitet Solidarności ( Solidarność Student Committee ). In the early 1980s she moved to Warsaw . After martial law was proclaimed in 1981 , she and her husband were interned for a short time and their son was placed in a children's home. From 1984 to 2012 she lectured medical sociology at the Institute for Social Medicine at the Medical Academy in Warsaw. With Tomasz Łubiński and Witold Bereś she directed the show Dobre Książki on TVP1 from 2001 to 2004 . The show was in 2005 under the name lepsze Książki to the station TVP Kultura moved and carried by 2007. In 2003 she joined the editorial staff of the Krytyka Polityczna newspaper . In the same year she co-founded the Partia Zieloni 2004 . She received her PhD in 2004 from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan with the thesis Czytając Polskę. Literatura po roku 1989 wobec dylematów nowoczesności . From 2008 to 2009 she was a member of the jury for the Nike Literature Prize .

She has published in Dialog , Twórczość , Twój Styl , Kurier Czytelniczy , FA-art , Nowe Książki , Zadra , Res Publika Nowa , Gazeta Wyborcza , Rzeczpospolita and Teksty Drugie .

She lives in Warsaw.
