Frank Hengstenberg

Frank Hengstenberg (born November 9, 1968 in Hörde ) is a German CDU politician .

Frank Hengstenberg was elected to the Dortmund City Council for the first time in 1994 . Since then he has represented a constituency in his home town of Hörde. In the 1999 to 2004 electoral period, he was active in the council as the social policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group. From January 2003 he was parliamentary group leader of the CDU parliamentary group in the city council of Dortmund. In the 2004–2009 electoral period, he also chaired the Committee for the Environment, Urban Design and Housing of the Dortmund City Council.

He was sent to the 12th Federal Assembly for the election of the German Federal President in 2004 .

In the local elections on September 26, 2004, he ran for the first time as a candidate for the office of mayor, but was defeated by his opponent and previous incumbent Dr. Gerhard Langemeyer . Frank Hengstenberg received 33.73% (Langemeyer 48.11%) in the first ballot and 37.47% (Langemeyer 62.52%) of the votes cast in the runoff ballot.

After the federal election in 2005 , he initially wanted to become district chairman of the CDU Dortmund and thus successor to Erich G. Fritz . After it became clear that Fritz would run again, he withdrew and applied for a deputy position. In this election he surprisingly lost to the other applicants.

On March 1, 2010, he resigned the chairmanship of the CDU council group and moved to EDG Disposal Dortmund as commercial director .

Hengstenberg is divorced and has a daughter.
