Frank J. Jenssen (born August 11, 1969 in Levanger ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative Høyre party . Since 2018 he is the Fylkesmann of Trøndelag .

Life

Jenssen was a member of Trondheim City Council from 1991 to 2008 . He served as deputy mayor between 2001 and 2002. From 1992 to 1994 he was the deputy chairman of the youth organization Unge Høyre . He also worked as a political advisor to the Mayor of Trondheim from 1995 to 1998. From 2000 to 2001 he was the communications director for the Høyre party. He headed his party from 2001 to 2008 in what was then the province of Sør-Trøndelag .

Frank Jenssen was appointed State Secretary in the Local and Regional Ministry on February 20, 2003 under Minister Erna Solberg . He held the office until February 28, 2005. He then worked as a communications consultant and director in various positions. From 2013 to 2017 Jenssen represented the constituency of Sør-Trøndelag in the Norwegian national parliament, the Storting . During this time he was a member of the parliamentary group of his party as well as the local and administrative committee. He did not stand for re-election after it was announced in January 2017 that he would take over the office of Fylkesmann in the newly established Trøndelag Province from 2018 .
