Frank Kane
Frank Kane (born July 19, 1912 in Brooklyn , USA , † November 29, 1968 in Manhasset , New York ) was an American advertising professional and is the author of numerous short stories , detective novels , radio programs, films and television plays .
Life
Kane attended St. John's Law School . He has worked as a columnist for The New York Press , as an editor for the New York Trade Newspapers Corporation , for the New York Journal of Commerce and in public relations , particularly as an advocate for the alcohol industry. After the Second World War he was a freelance writer, later on the radio, where he introduced movie stars, and on television.
Kane wrote for the productions The Shadow , Gang Busters , Counter Spy , The Fat Man , Casey, Crime Photographer , Mr. Keen, Tracer of Lost Persons , The Lawless Twenties , Nick Carter, Master Detective and for the documentary about the coast guard You Have To go out . He created Call the Police for Lever Brothers and Claim Agent for NBC . In the 1940s to 1960s he wrote about 40 novels (mostly about the character Johnny Liddell). He has also written numerous short stories for crime magazines such as Manhunt , The Saint Detective Magazine , Private Eye , Pursuit .
Most recently he was in Hollywood a lot, where he played television games and a. wrote for the shows Special Agent 7 and The Investigators .
His novel Key Witness was shot as a feature film in 1960 .
