Frank Boaz Leder (born February 22, 1962 in Hofheim am Taunus , Hessen ) is a German massage therapist, masseur, author and teacher of mindfulness meditation.

Life

In 1983, after completing his community service (individual care for the severely disabled), Frank B. Leder began studying body-oriented psychotherapy at Heartwood College for the Natural Healing Arts in Garberville / California , USA, with a focus on deep tissue and classic massage, acupressure and relaxation techniques. He graduated as a Massage Therapist (1000 hours) under the rules of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). In September 1984 he opened his own practice in the Taunus.

From 1981 to 2015 Leder learned mindfulness meditation as a student of Ruth Denison. Since 1993 he has been working as a meditation teacher in the Vipassana tradition according to Ruth Denison. From 1985 to 2019 Leder received training in transpersonal psychology from Michael Barnett.

In 1985 he did a clinical internship in the physical department of the Bethanien Hospital in Frankfurt am Main.

In 1986 Leder received the professional certificate as a state-approved masseur and becomes a member of the VPT (Association of Physical Therapy in Germany). Together with Sylvia von Kalckreuth, he heads a practice for massage and therapy in Frankfurt from 1988 and in Hofheim am Taunus from 1992. Leder and Kalckreuth developed their own complementary therapeutic concept, the TouchLife massage method.

In 1989 he founded the TouchLife School together with Sylvia von Kalckreuth; they developed a curriculum and examination plan and the definition of the professional profile / association for TouchLife practitioners. As a massage teacher, Leder has been training for massage therapists since 1989.

In 1998 Leder described a treatment concept for therapeutic treatments close to the company. Under the name TouchLife-mobil, massage at the workplace, treatments have been taking place at companies and authorities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria as part of company health management.

In 2010, Leder and von Kalckreuth initiated the “For people who help” campaign. On December 5th (International Volunteer Day) practitioners from the TouchLife massage network give away free treatments to volunteers.

From 2011–2016, Leder was project manager for the Institute for Body-Related Therapies, Munich, under the umbrella of the Steinbeis University in Berlin, responsible for the Bachelor of Science degree in Complementary Therapy with a specialization in TouchLife.

Since 2015 annual teaching and lecture trips (focus on mindfulness meditation) in the USA.

Since 2016, Leder has also been teaching trained therapists in massage in terminal care.
