Frank Muschalle

Frank Muschalle (* 1969 in frets . / Westphalia) is a German Blues - and Boogie Woogie - pianist .

Live and act

After eleven years of classical piano training, he turned to boogie woogie at the age of 19; he finished his teacher training and became a professional musician. Albert Ammons , Little Brother Montgomery and Pete Johnson are considered to be his most important musical influences . He became known through joint appearances and piano battles with the pianists Axel Zwingenberger , Vince Weber , Martin Pyrker and many others. He toured South Carolina and Europe with the Mojo Blues Band . In 2001 he formed the Frank Muschalle Trio with the former Mojo Blues Band musicians Dani Gugolz (bass) and Peter Müller , with whom he also toured South America. Frank Muschalle plays in a second line-up with Matthias Klüter (bass) and Dirk Engelmeyer (drums)

In Münsterland , he organizes a boogie-woogie festival in the community center in Kinderhaus , a district of Münster.

Awards

On October 15, 2011, Muschalle received the Boogie Woogie Pianist of the Year 2011 award at the presentation of the 2nd German Boogie Woogie Awards Pinetop . In 2019 Muschalle and his trio with Dirk Engelmeyer (drums & vocals) and Matthias Klüter (double bass) received the Keeper of the Flame prize donated by the Osnabrück jazz club Park Lane .
