Frank Störzner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Frank Störzner (* 1958 in Erfurt ) is the author of several non-fiction books on topics related to Thuringian stone cross research and Thuringian history .

Frank Störzner is known as a connoisseur of the numerous small and land monuments in Thuringia . His inventories Steinkreuze in Thuringia (2 volumes), published in 1984 and 1988 in the publication series of the state archeology, are now among the standard works in this special field of ethnographic-historical research.

Even as a schoolboy he was fascinated by local history research, with a publication to mark the 1100th anniversary of the Kleinmölsen community in 1976 as the starting point for journalism. Frank Störzner has been a volunteer at the Thuringian State Office for Archaeological Monument Preservation in Weimar since April 1973 and has since dedicated his spare time to the documentation, interpretation and practical monument preservation care of small and land monuments. For this he was honored with the Thuringian Monument Protection Prize in 1996.
