Frank Steffes

Frank Steffes (* 1964 in Burscheid ) is a German local politician of the SPD . He has been the full-time mayor of the city of Leichlingen (Rhineland) since 2014 .

Life

Frank Steffes grew up in Quettingen . In 1978 he moved to Leichlingen with his parents. After his general school education he attended secondary school in Opladen . Then he did an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk . He worked in this profession for two years. He then studied business administration at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences . During his studies, he founded an IT system house with friends . After reunification , a branch was added in Saxony-Anhalt . In 1993 Steffes joined a direct marketing agency.

In 1989 he got a seat on the city council of Leichlingen and was active in various committees. Steffes lives in Leichlingen, is married and has a daughter and a son.

He won the runoff election on June 15, 2014 against his opponent Rainer Hüttebräucker (CDU).
