Frankenstrasse (Düren)
The Frankenstraße in the district town Düren ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ) is an ancient city road . It starts at Bonner Strasse and ends at the confluence with Eberhard-Hoesch-Strasse . In the further course it is called Römerstraße in the direction of the eastern exit of the village .
The Frankenstrasse is still popularly called "Sturmsberg" today because the Sturmbrauerei used to be in the upper, uphill section .
history
The Frankenstrasse was a section of the so-called Stationsweg , which led from the Bonnkreuz to the Mother of God House . Of the 14 stations of the cross, the Frankenstrasse station is the only one left .
The street was named after the Franks after a decision by the city council on June 10, 1902 .
