The house with the postal address Frankenstraße 42 is a listed building on Frankenstraße in Stralsund .

The core of the two-storey , three-axle gabled house dates from the 16th century; the gable to the courtyard has been preserved from this period.

In 1736 the facade was renewed. It has grooved building edges. A flat central projection accommodates the arched portal niche . A tail gable rises above the strong main cornice, the lower area of ​​which was redesigned for residential purposes in 1910.

The house is located in the core area of ​​the city ​​area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund from 1997 with the number 237.
