Franklin Taylor
Franklin Taylor (born February 5, 1843 in Birmingham , † March 19, 1919 in London ) was an English pianist and music teacher.
Live and act
Taylor studied from 1859 to 1861 at the Leipzig Conservatory with Louis Plaidy and Ignaz Moscheles . In 1863 he briefly took lessons from Clara Schumann in Paris . From 1882 he was principal teacher for piano at the Royal College of Music in London. He wrote Progressive Studies for Piano and Technique and Expression in Pianoforte Playing , was also active as a journalist and wrote numerous articles for the Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians . Taylor was the father of General Maurice Grove Taylor .
