Frans Lanting
Frans Lanting (born July 13, 1951 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch - American nature and environmental photographer .
Life
Lanting obtained a Master's Degree in Environmental Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1977 and emigrated to the USA after studying in the Netherlands . He now lives in Santa Cruz , California and runs a studio, gallery, and photo agency there. His wife, Chris Eckstrom, is an editor, writer, and producer who often collaborates on book projects with him.
Lanting works in many different regions of the world such as the Amazon , Africa and Antarctica . The magazines that published his images include National Geographic , Natural History , Stern , Outdoor Photographer , Audubon, and Life .
