František Jakubec (born April 12, 1956 in Český Brod , † May 27, 2016 in Prague , Czech Republic ) was a Czechoslovak football player . He took part in the 1982 World Cup and played 25 international matches for the Czechoslovak national team between 1981 and 1984 .
Career
František Jakubec played in his youth for Sokol Vyšehořovice and FC Bohemians Prague . The defender moved to VTJ Karlovy Vary in 1976 to do his two-year military service there and returned to Prague in 1978 .
In the following years, the full-back was mostly part of the Bohemians starting line-up. His good performance in the league brought him to the Czechoslovak national team in 1981 , as well as consideration for the 1982 World Cup .
Jakubec was Czechoslovakian champion in 1983 with Bohemians Prague. In early 1987 Jakubec moved to the Greek club Veria FC . After only half a year he was signed by the Swiss club AC Bellinzona , for which he played for two years. For the 1989/90 season he returned to Bohemians Prague and played five games for the green-whites.
After his active career, Jakubec was head of the youth department at Bohemians for many years and worked as a trainer at AFK Slavoji Podolí Praha. František Jakubec died on May 27, 2016 at the age of 60 in Prague.
