Franz-Josef Eilers

Franz-Josef Eilers SVD (born May 11, 1932 in Emsdetten ) is a German religious and Roman Catholic theologian.

Life

Eilers studied after ordination, journalism , art history and mission studies in Münster , where he met with a thesis on communication illiterate cultures in Papua New Guinea doctorate was. In 1968 he founded the journal Communicatio Socialis .

After working as communications secretary for the Steyler missionaries in Rome , he headed the Catholic Media Council (CAMECO) in Aachen from 1971 to 1985 . After brief activity as a lecturer at the PTH St. Augustin , he was appointed professor for journalism and missiology at the Philosophical-Theological University of the SVD in Tagaytay in 1988 .
