Franz-Josef Höing

Franz-Josef Höing (* 1965 in Gescher ) is a German city planner. Since 2017 he has been the senior construction director of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg .

Life

Höing studied spatial planning at the University of Dortmund. From 1994 to 1999 he had an assistant position at the Technical University of Vienna and then until 2000 at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen . From 2000 to 2004 he was the personal assistant to Jörn Walter , Hamburg's senior construction director at the time , and from 2003 head of the HafenCity project group. From 2004 to 2008 he worked as a professor for urban planning at the Münster University of Applied Sciences . He then became Senate Building Director of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . From 2012 to 2017 he was the department head for urban development, planning and construction for the city of Cologne . On November 1, 2017, he took over from Jörn Walter as senior construction director in the Hamburg authority for urban development and housing .
