Franz Anton Maichelbeck
Franz Anton Maichelbeck (born July 6, 1702 in Reichenau , † June 14, 1750 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German organist and composer.
Life
Maichelbeck grew up in Reichenau with twelve siblings and attended the Jesuit high school in Constance . From 1721 he studied theology in Freiburg and was sent to Rome on September 27, 1725 to study church music. In 1727/1728 he was appointed organist and cathedral music director at the Freiburg Cathedral . Later he was appointed court conductor to Augsburg by Prince-Bishop Johann Franz Schenk von Stauffenberg .
