Franz Büttner (medic, 1694)

Franz Büttner (* 1694 in Frankfurt am Main ; † 1754 ibid) was a German physician and personal physician to the Prince of Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst .

Life

Franz Büttner studied medicine at the universities in Jena and Altdorf .

In a work published in 1709 under the responsibility of Jena University Librarian Bartholomäus Christian Reichard (1679–1721) on the whereabouts of Norbert von Xanten's remains , he tries to prove that people in Prague have been venerating a pseudo-Norbert since 1627 and the real bones in Magdeburg would rest.

After receiving his doctorate in Altdorf in 1722, Büttner later worked as counselor and personal physician to the Prince of Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst.

On May 13, 1724 he was given the academic surname Heliodorus III. elected a member ( matriculation number 368 ) of the Leopoldina .
