from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Franz Barachini (born June 24, 1956 ) is an Austrian computer scientist . He teaches and researches in the interdisciplinary sector of knowledge management .

From 1985 to 1996 Barachini was research director at the Alcatel research center in Vienna. He is co-founder of the International Council on Knowledge Management and managing director of the Vienna International School of Thought, a school of thought for organizational optimization and further development of socio-political issues.

Work

Barachini optimized the Rete algorithm developed by Charles Forgy . This was used in production systems, but was unsuitable for real-time systems . The research and publications carried out by Barachini made it possible to use the advanced algorithm as an integral part of real-time systems. The runtime-optimized algorithm is used, among other things, in an industrial expert system in railway safety technology. As a representative of autopoiesis , Barachini has published numerous works on the subject of knowledge exchange. His business transaction theory underpins the theory of knowledge markets by Thomas H. Davenport. Recent publications and experiments show the importance of power and jealousy in efficient team building. With the help of multi-agent simulations , it turns out that incentives play an important role.
