Franz Bernhard von Nassau-Hadamar (born September 21, 1637 in Hadamar ; † September 15, 1695 ibid) was a member of the younger line of the Nassau-Hadamar family .

Franz Bernhard von Nassau-Hadamar was born as the 14th child of the successful and respected Prince Johann Ludwig von Nassau-Hadamar and Princess Ursula, a daughter of Count Simon the Elder of Lippe-Detmold .

education

After he was educated by the Jesuits in Hadamar, he traveled to Antwerp at the age of 13 and visited the Konvikt there . He then completed a two-year course at the University of Cologne from November 2, 1651 .

Life

He embarked on a church career and became provost of Cologne and Strasbourg, provost of Emmerich and cathedral chapter of Bremen.

death

His coffin rests today in the princely crypt under the Aegidia Church on the Mönchberg. Shortly after his death, his heart was buried in the Herzenberg chapel on the Hadamarer Herzenberg or Hirschberg in the chapel there, which he had expanded in 1690 during his time as Prince Regent.
