Franz Blum

Franz Blum (born March 8, 1914 in Weidlingau , Lower Austria , † April 10, 1942 in Russia ) was an Austrian sculptor.

biography

After graduating from high school, Blum studied at the Academy of Fine Arts with Anton Hanak (1932–1937). In 1938 he emigrated to the Netherlands, where he was involved in humanitarian activities. In 1940 he was again artistically active in The Hague. His work The Pregnant was shown in 1937 in the Austrian Gallery , his only exhibition in 1940 at Van Lier in Amsterdam .

In 1940 Blum married the painter Irmtraut Bilger, who was a sister of Margret Bilger . He fell in Russia on April 10, 1942.
