Franz Brandl (politician)

Franz Brandl (born July 13, 1902 in Linz , † October 29, 1990 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and master baker. From 1945 to 1949 he was a member of the National Council .

Life

Brandl was born as the son of the master baker and politician Alois Brandl from Eisenerz . He attended elementary school and secondary school and subsequently learned to be a baker. He graduated from the bakery school in Bochum and worked as a journeyman baker in various health resorts such as Franzensbad and Karlsbad . After the death of his father, Brandl took over his father's company "Alois Brandl KG". From 1949 to 1965 he was the owner of the Hotel Brandl in Linz.

Brandl was involved in the state and federal guild of bakers, was from 1945 chairman of the master health insurance fund and board member of the international bakers' association. In 1945 he was one of the founders of the Austrian Business Association (Landesgruppe Oberösterreich), was on the board of the Linz Commercial Association and President and Honorary President of the Upper Austrian Volkskreditanstalt. Between December 19, 1945 and November 8, 1949 he represented the ÖVP in the National Council.

Brandl was married and the father of four children.
