Franz Dötsch

Franz Dötsch (born December 7, 1948 ) is a German lawyer and former presiding judge at the Federal Fiscal Court .

Life

In 1967 Dötsch joined the middle service in financial administration . After passing the career examination, he studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences Rhineland-Palatinate and law at the University of Bonn . In 1986 he received his doctorate from the University of Bonn with the investigation "business income on the operating sale and abandonment" Dr. iur. In the same year Dötsch entered the higher judicial service in Lower Saxony , where he initially worked at the Lower Saxony Finance Court . From here he was seconded to the Federal Fiscal Court in 1989, where he worked as a research assistant .

In July 1991 Dötsch was appointed judge at the Federal Fiscal Court. Here he was first in the Second Senate, then in the Eighth Senate and since 2002 in the Xth Senate. He was also a member of the Grand Senate for several years. Since 2003 he has been a member of the Presidium of the Federal Fiscal Court.

On July 1, 2008 Dötsch was appointed presiding judge at the Federal Fiscal Court. He took over the chairmanship of the 4th Senate, which is responsible for legal disputes about the taxation of partnerships and income from agriculture and forestry. With the age-related retirement of the presiding judge at the Federal Fiscal Court Heide Boeker at the end of October 2010, he became the chairman of the III. Transferred to the Senate (BFH press release No. 93 of October 27, 2010).

Dötsch is a lecturer in tax law at the Technical University of Munich . Since January 2000 he has been an honorary professor at this university.
