Franz Deuter

Franz Deuter (born February 8, 1899 in Sickenhöfen (East Prussia) , † June 26, 1973 in Bremen ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Deuter first attended elementary school in the Fischhausen / Samland district . He then completed an apprenticeship as a saddler. He was seriously wounded in World War I : he lost his left leg and sustained an injury to his left hand. After the war he was employed in a company. He later switched to civil service at the district authority. He was already slated for a promotion to senior secretary when he was dismissed when he seized power in 1933. Between 1934 and 1939 he worked as an insurance agent and traveling merchant.

From December 1939 he was in military service as a civilian employee at the naval fortress command in Pillau. At the end of the Second World War he had to leave the eastern regions and settled in Fischerhude as a refugee since February 1945 .

Deuter was a member of the appointed Hanover State Parliament from August 23, 1946 to October 29, 1946.
