Franz Donalies

Franz Donalies (born September 30, 1872 in Ragnit , † probably 1945 ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Donalies was originally a saddler and worked as a travel agent from 1905 to 1910. In 1910 he became the SPD party secretary in Königsberg (Prussia) .

Politically, Donalies was a member of the Sattlerverband and the SPD. From 1902 to 1905 he was chairman and from 1905 to 1910 Gauleiter of the Sattlerverband. 1907 to 1915 he was chairman of the press commission. In 1919/1910 he was chairman of the SPD in Koenigsberg, then second chairman of the SPD district association East Prussia and a deputy member of the SPD party committee. Later he was Gauleiter of the Reichsbanner Black-Red-Gold .

From 1909 to 1924 he was a city councilor in Königsberg. From 1925 to 1933 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of East Prussia . 1931 to 1932 he was deputy chairman of the provincial parliament. After Curt Immisch's death, he moved up on April 27, 1931 as a deputy member of the Prussian State Council and remained so until 1933. After the Nazis came to power , he was taken into " protective custody ". He probably died in a shipwreck at the end of the war.
