Franz Falke (born March 22, 1909 in Ascheberg ; † December 9, 1994 in Ibbenbüren ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and the Progymnasium, Falke completed an apprenticeship as a painter, which he completed with a journeyman's examination. He then worked as a painter's journeyman until 1932 and then passed the master painter examination. From 1935 to 1940 he was the manager of a painting company. He took part in World War II as a soldier from 1940 to 1945 and was deployed in France and Russia . He was most recently taken prisoner by the United States, from which he was released after three months.

After 1945, Falke returned to the profession he had learned and became a co-owner of a master painter's business. As a part-time job, he hired himself as a specialist teacher at the district vocational school in Ibbenbüren and as a consultant in the painters' guild.

Falke had been a member of the CDU since 1945.

Falke had been a councilor for the city of Ibbenbüren since 1946. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1965 and from July 27, 1967, when he replaced the deceased member of parliament Theodor Mengelkamp , until 1969. From 1961 to 1965 he represented the constituency of Steinfurt - Tecklenburg in parliament .

Public offices

Falke was mayor of Ibbenbüren from 1960 to 1964.
