Franz Fischer (SS member, 1896)
Franz Fischer (born January 4, 1896 in Nuremberg , † July 26, 1983 in Stein ) was a German officer, most recently an SS brigade leader .
Life
Fischer took part in the First World War as a member of the Bavarian Army and received several awards. After the end of the war he worked in a volunteer corps and later in the Reichswehr .
Franz Fischer joined the NSDAP in February 1929 ( membership number 112.226) and in January 1930 the SS (SS number 2.874). Fischer rose to SS-Oberführer via the classic levels of Untersturmführer (1931), Hauptsturmführer (1932), Sturmbannführer (1933), Obersturmbannführer (1933) and Standartenführer (1934). As such he was appointed on September 13, 1936. At that time he was assigned to the staff of the SS upper section "Elbe". During the Second World War , from September 1939 to January 1945, he was staff leader of the SS upper section "Main" in Nuremberg. Fischer was promoted to brigade leader in November 1942.
SS Oberführer Otto Borchert was his son-in-law.
