Franz Friedrich (born January 24, 1940 in Graz ; † November 23, 2018 in Graz) was an Austrian actor .

Life

After training as an actor in Graz, engagements in Bonn, Vienna, Bregenz, Wuppertal, Biel / Solothurn followed. In 1977 he returned to his hometown and was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Graz until 2005 . He embodied roles such as the village judge Adam ( Der zerbrochne Krug ), Restl ( Lady and Tailor ), Sancho Pansa ( The Man from La Mancha ), Fritz Beermann ( Morality ), Martin Luther ( Martin Luther & Thomas Münzer or the introduction of accounting ) , Pfrim ( fear of hell ), Zauberkönig ( stories from the Vienna Woods ), Peachum ( Threepenny Opera ), title role in George Dandin, Der Herr Karl, K. u. k. Executioner Josef Lang.

Friedrich had guest contracts at the Münster City Theaters, Graz Opera House, Theater in der Josefstadt Vienna, City Theater Klagenfurt , took part in the Styrian Autumn Festival , Wiener Festwochen, Festival Athens, performed at the Stockerau Festival, Andernach Castle / Rhine Festival , Wetzlar Industrial Festival , Wenkenhof - Basel-Riehen Games, Kobersdorf Castle Games, Gutenstein Raimund Festival, Wunsiedel Luisenburg Festival , Mayen Castle Festival . He played on tours in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. In addition to his work at the Schauspielhaus Graz , he appeared in the cabaret “Die Gal (l) eristen” and was co-founder of the “Small Stage in the Landhauskeller”.

He worked in feature films and television productions, was a speaker in numerous radio plays, designed radio programs and wrote cabaret texts. For years he was a member of the renowned cabaret ensemble Die Grazbürsten .
