Franz Fux
Franz Fux (born September 19, 1927 in Gföhleramt ; † February 28, 2009 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ), farmer and author of numerous books. From 1967 to 1970 he was a member of the National Council .
Life
Fux attended four classes at an elementary school and four classes at the secondary school in Gföhl . After the Second World War , he graduated from an agricultural vocational school from 1947 to 1949 and subsequently worked as a farmer. In 1954 he took over his parents' farm, in 1960 he became managing director of the Waldviertel cattle breeding and sales cooperative in the municipality of Gföhl. From 1964 Fux became politically active in the district committee of the SPÖ Krems , a year later he became a local councilor in Gföhleramt. In addition, he was involved as a district chamber councilor and from 1965 as a member of the provincial board of the Austrian labor farmers' association. Fux represented the SPÖ from May 18, 1967 to March 31, 1970 in the National Council.

- 1999: Professional title professor (because of his services as a local researcher)
- 2005: Prize of the Renner Institute Lower Austria. (For his life's work and as the author of "Rise of a Class - History of the Workers' Movement in Krems")
- 2006: Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art
- 2008: Honorary citizen of the municipality of Gföhl
His life's work is commemorated in the “Gföhleramt Farm Museum”, which he founded in 1974.
