history

The diocese of Bafia was on July 6, 1965 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Quo lex Evangelica from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Yaoundé as the Apostolic Prefecture of Bafia . On January 11, 1968, the Apostolic Prefecture Bafia was by Paul VI. with the Apostolic Constitution Adorandi Dei Filii raised to the diocese and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Yaoundé as a suffragan .
