Abraham Kome

Abraham Boualo Kome (born July 2, 1969 in Loum ) is a Cameroonian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Bafang .

Life

Abraham Kome studied at the theological seminary of Nkongbodol in Douala and was ordained a priest on December 11, 1999 for the diocese of Nkongsamba . He graduated from the University of Dschang with a degree in philosophy and social sciences .

After his ordination he was chaplain at the cathedral of Nkongsamba and diocesan pastor for the children and young people for a year . Then he was prefect of studies at the boys' seminar in Melong and diocesan ceremonies until 2003 . After three years as pastor in Bafang , he was vicar general from 2006 to 2011 and from March 5, 2011 until his appointment as bishop diocesan administrator of Nkongsamba.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on May 26, 2012 as the first bishop of the diocese of Bafang established on the same date . The Apostolic Nuncio in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea , Archbishop Piero Pioppo , donated him the episcopal ordination on July 15 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Samuel Kleda , Archbishop of Douala , and Dieudonné Watio , Bishop of Bafoussam .

During the vacancy from June 6, 2017 to July 11, 2020 , he was also Apostolic Administrator of Bafia .
