Franz Gruber (theologian)

Franz Josef Gruber (born June 12, 1960 in Vöcklabruck ) is an Austrian Catholic dogmatist .

Gruber has been professor of fundamental theology and dogmatics at the Catholic Private University in Linz since 2001 . From 2002 to 2012 he was editor-in-chief of the theological-practical quarterly published by the professors of the university. Since July 1, 2014 he has been rector of the KU Linz. In June 2018 he was re-elected as rector of the KU Linz for a term of office lasting until 2021. On July 1, 2020, Christoph Nobody succeeded him as Rector.
