Ferdinand Reisinger (theologian)

Ferdinand Reisinger CanReg (born July 24, 1946 in Mauthausen ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic priest and theologian.

Life

After graduating from the Kollegium Aloisianum in 1964 , he entered the St. Florian Monastery on August 27, 1964 and made his solemn profession on August 28, 1968. He studied philosophy, theology, history and political science at the University of Salzburg. After being ordained a priest on July 9, 1970 , he received his doctorate in 1976 Sub auspiciis and in 1977 received the talent promotion bonus for science of the state of Upper Austria. Her many awards such as 2004, the Culture Medal of Upper Austria, in 2006 the Cultural Award for the Humanities and in 2013 the Golden Medal of Honor of the province of Upper Austria and on 22 July 2016 Cross of Honor for Science and Art , presented the Republic of Austria.

From 1978 he taught social studies and contemporary philosophical issues at the KU Linz and also taught at the Pedagogical Academy and the Religious Pedagogical Academy of the Diocese of Linz. In 1983 he became an associate. Professor for social studies and pastoral sociology at the Catholic-Theological Private University Linz and appointed full professor in 1994.

From 1986 to 2004 and from 2005 to 2011 he was the monastery dean of St. Florian. Since his retirement in 2011, he has been pastor in Hargelsberg , as well as state fire brigade curate and since 2013 dean of the Enns-Lorch dean's office.

He is a member of class 8 (world religions) of the Academia Scientiarum et Artium Europaea . His main research interests are church and politics, church and economy, theological economic criticism, religious sociology and art (and their connection to theology and politics).
