Ansgar Kreutzer

Ansgar Kreutzer (born January 16, 1973 in Saarbrücken ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and university professor .

Life

Ansgar Kreutzer studied theology and sociology in Freiburg and Paris. After graduating as a diploma theologian, he worked from 2000 to 2001 as a research project assistant at the Oswald von Nell-Breuning Institute for Economic and Social Ethics at the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen and from 2001 to 2002 as a research assistant in the dogmatics department of the Albert-Ludwigs- University of Freiburg and from 2002 to 2011 as a university assistant at the Catholic Private University Linz (KU). 2006 Kreutzer at the University of Freiburg became a doctor of theology doctorate ; In 2010 he received the venia docendi for dogmatics at the KU Linz . Ansgar Kreutzer was appointed full professor for fundamental theology at the KU Linz in 2011 . There he has also been editor-in-chief of the Theologische-Praktische Viertelschrift since 2012 and head of the newly established department for religious studies since 2015 . Kreutzer has been Professor of Systematic Theology at the Institute for Catholic Theology at the University of Giessen since December 2017 .

Research priorities

Kreutzer's research focuses on theological foundations (fundamental theology) as well as in the sociology of religion and in religious studies. Research into the Second Vatican Council as a modernization impulse for the Catholic Church also plays an important role in Kreutzer's work . Interreligious dialogue is one of his concerns .
