Franz Hänse (born April 28, 1866 in Birkhausen ; † April 18, 1949 there ) was a German politician (DNVP, CNBL).

Live and act

Franz Hänse was born as the son of a self-employed farmer. In his youth he attended elementary school and advanced training school. He was then trained on his parents' farm and privately instructed. He later received further training in agricultural courses.

From 1884 to 1887 Hänse belonged to the Hussar Regiment "von Zieten" (Brandenburgisches) No. 3 in Rathenow. He then took over his father's farm. At the local level, he took on his first political offices as chairman of the community council, as a parish council member and justice of the peace in his home parish. In 1902 he became an agricultural representative at the tax authorities of the former Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar .

In 1919, Hänse joined the German National People's Party (DNVP). In March 1921, he entered the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic , elected in June 1920 , as a replacement for the resigned MP Erich W. Mackeldey , in which he represented constituency 13 (Thuringia) until his early resignation in March 1924. After the Reichstag elections of May 1924 , Hänse was able to return to the Reichstag as a representative of constituency 12 (Thuringia; after renumbering the constituencies). After moving from the DNVP to the Christian National Peasant and Rural People's Party (CNBL), Hänse entered the Reichstag as a member of the Reichstag in the May 1928 election, in which he now has two legislative periods, up to July 1932 old constituency.

In addition, Hänse was a board member of the Landbund in the Gera district and the Thuringian Landbund as well as a member of the district committee and the central nutrition committee in the Neustadt administrative district.

The National Socialism was Hänse due to its view that the Nazis intended to assign, far from the peasantry a "degrading" "political nightwatchman role."
