Birkhausen is a district of the municipality of Harth-Pöllnitz in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

history

Birkhausen was first mentioned in a document as early as 1286. In 1783 the name of a miller in Birkhausen appeared. There was a mill as a grinding and cutting mill. The place is located in the extensive forest area "Bickert". Three quarters of the village are surrounded by forest. To the south of the site, a pond completes the environment.

The federal motorway 9 grazes the district to the west.
