history

As of 2011 Köfeln had 95 inhabitants. Köfeln was mentioned in the Mildenfurth monastery as early as 1193 . The settlement was first mentioned in a document on October 4, 1209.

On April 9, 1994 the merger with the neighboring communities of Burkersdorf and Frießnitz to form the community of Harth . This in turn merged on December 21, 1995 with the municipality of Pöllnitz to form the municipality of Harth-Pöllnitz.
