Franz Haas (born August 4, 1948 in Ebenthal ; † December 28, 2004 ) was a Lower Austrian artist.

Life

Born in Ebenthal in 1948, he lived in Gösting / Zistersdorf in the Weinviertel . He worked as a teacher in Zistersdorf and taught painting and graphics at the adult education center.

After school, he trained as a teacher at the Federal Teachers' Training Institute in St. Pölten, where he was supported by the academic painter Prof. Karl Friedrich. 1967 Matura, 1969 to 1975 training as an art teacher.

From 1976 to 1980 he studied and trained in a wide variety of artistic techniques such as oil painting, pastel, watercolor, etching, screen printing and mosaic techniques. From 1982 he worked as a freelance artist, in 1986 he opened his studio in Gösting / Zistersdorf.

The art was his greatest passion has always been, even as a young boy he discovered his talent . The Weinviertel in its own way offered the artist an inexhaustible reservoir for his work. When choosing his motifs, he made use of the possibilities offered by his closest surroundings by emphasizing the characteristic features. He often painted the same motifs from different angles. Be it to reproduce the essentials of the landscape, reduced to limited coloring and omission of all details up to abstraction, or, by exhausting a rich color palette, to capture a moment-bound mood. After dedicating his passion to naturalistic painting for many years, at the end of his artistic creative period he developed a tendency towards abstract painting, implemented in strong acrylic paintings. Franz Haas is one of the painters who shaped the artistic landscape in his homeland very strongly. His preferred techniques were oil , acrylic , pastel , red chalk, and etching .
