Franz Josef Geil

Franz Josef Geil (born May 4, 1907 in Oberlahnstein ; † October 9, 1948 there ) was a German politician ( center , CDP / CDU ).

Life

Geil did an apprenticeship at CS Schmidt in Niederlahnstein. He then obtained the lower primary qualification at Oberlahnstein grammar school and became a volunteer at CS Schmidt. In self-study he acquired knowledge of bookkeeping, balance sheets and taxation. In 1933 he worked at the Stadtkasse Oberlahnstein. For political reasons he was after the seizure of power released by the National Socialists. He then worked for the Meyer envelope factory in Koblenz. After the company was Aryanized , he was unemployed. After the Second World War he worked again for the Oberlahnstein city administration.

Before 1933 he was chairman of the youth center in Oberlahnstein and district chairman of the Windthorstbund . In 1945 he sat for the former center on the advisory board of the city of Oberlahnstein and became acting mayor of Lahnstein . In 1946 he was one of the co-founders of the CDP (later CDU) Oberlahnstein. From 1945 he was mayor of Lahnstein and from 1948 mayor of Gerolstein . In 1948 he was a participant in the knight fall conference .

For the CDU he was a member of the advisory state assembly in 1946/47 .
