Franz Lederer (born November 25, 1963 ) is an Austrian football coach . Since January 1, 2019, he has been the coach of ASV Draßburg , with whom he was promoted to the Regionalliga Ost in summer 2019 .

Career

From 2005 to 2013 and briefly in 2014 he was head coach of the Austrian Bundesliga club SV Mattersburg . Before that he worked for several years behind Werner Gregoritsch and Muhsin Ertugral as co-trainer of the Burgenland. Since thanks to Lederer the weakness of Mattersburg away from home was nullified, President Martin Pucher promoted him from assistant coach and interim head coach to head coach. Before that, he coached the lower class club SC Wiesen and FC Marz. He was also head coach of the Burgenland post office in Mattersburg until he took up his position . 2012/13 was relegated to the first division. Thereupon Lederer resigned and became sports director. In 2014 he was head coach for a short time in the spring, as his predecessor / successor resigned due to poor results. In the summer of 2018, his contract as sporting director of SV Mattersburg was terminated.

On January 1, 2019, he took over the coaching position at ASV Draßburg and led it to the Regional League East by winning the championship in the Landesliga Burgenland in summer 2019 . For the club, this was the greatest success in the club's 73-year history.
