Franz Praetorius
Georg Friedrich Franz Praetorius (born December 22, 1847 in Berlin , † January 21, 1927 in Breslau , Province of Lower Silesia ) was a German orientalist .
Life
He attended high school in Berlin. From 1865 he studied linguistics, especially oriental studies at the universities of Berlin and Leipzig . In 1870 he received his doctorate from the University of Halle with the dissertation Fabula de Regina Sabea apud aithiopes to the Dr. phil. In 1873 he completed his habilitation at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin . In 1880 he was offered a full professorship in Semitic philology at the University of Breslau . In 1892 he moved to the University of Halle.
