Franz Prinke

Franz Prinke (born January 24, 1898 in Vienna ; † January 4, 1969 in Kitzbühel ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From 1945 to 1969 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

After elementary school, Prinke attended the community school and then switched to the commercial school. He passed the administrative examination and from 1926 worked professionally as the head of the employment office of the Christian trade union . He was promoted to head of the Vienna employment offices and after the Second World War in 1945 he became state party secretary of the ÖVP Vienna.

Politically, Prinke was initially involved in the Christian Social Party (CS), and from 1927 he represented the CS in the Vienna Landtag and local council . He was also district party chairman of CS- Simmering from 1927 to 1934 and was taken into “ protective custody ” for political reasons between 1938 and 1940 after the Nazis came to power . After the Second World War, Prinke was a member of the National Council from December 19, 1945 to January 4, 1969.

Franz Prinke was invested in the Vienna Hofburg Chapel in 1956 by Albert Ohlmeier OSB, Prior of the Southwest German Order Province, as representative of Grand Prior Archbishop Andreas Rohracher in the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .

Franz-Prinke-Gasse in Simmering was named after Franz Prinke in 2006 .
