Franz Riepl (politician, 1949)

Franz Riepl (born March 23, 1949 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and was a member of the Austrian National Council .

education and profession

Franz Riepl attended elementary school from 1955 to 1959 and then attended a secondary school in Vienna. In 1964 he began an apprenticeship as an electrical mechanic, which he finished in 1968. In 1969 he did his military service.

Riepl worked as an electrical mechanic from 1968 to 1973 and has been the union secretary since 1973. In 1988 he became federal secretary.

politics

Franz Riepl was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and member of the Vienna City Council from 1988 to 1996 and has been a member of the Chamber of Labor and Employees in Vienna since 1974 . From 1996 to 2013 he was a member of the National Council. From 2004 to 2013 he was deputy chairman in the Labor and Social Committee and previously deputy chairman in the building committee.
