Franz Schaap

Franz Schaap (born October 5, 1911 in Gerthe ; † March 18, 1983 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1958 to 1970 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After elementary school , Franz Schaap attended the mountain pre-school and a special course at the mountain school, then he worked as a miner and pit climber . Schaap joined the SPD in 1928. In 1957 he became chairman of the SPD local association Bochum-Hiltrop and a member of the district association board in Bochum . In 1962, Schaap also became a board member of the Bochum district management of IG Bergbau und Energie .

In October 1952 Schaap was elected to the Bochum city council, he remained councilor until October 1964. In the state elections in 1958, 1962 and 1966, Schaap was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament as a direct candidate for the SPD in constituencies 103 and 106 (Bochum II) . He was a member of parliament from July 21, 1958 to July 25, 1970. Schaap was in the state parliament from July 30, 1962 to July 23, 1966 chairman of the parliamentary committee of inquiry for mine safety, and in the following legislative period from October 25, 1966 to the 12 March 1968 Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Mine Safety.
