Franz Schlör

Franz Schlör (born January 28, 1853 in Barth ; † after 1931) was a German industrialist.

Life

In April 1888, Schlör took over the machine factory and iron foundry from Franz Kobes in Barth, which he converted from ship repairs to the construction of agricultural machines. When his company merged with Pommerschen Eisengießerei und Maschinenfabrik AG in Stralsund in 1890 , Schlör also joined the board there and assumed overall management. In addition, he was a co-founder of the Barther Aktien-Dampfmühle and the Barther jute spinning mill and was on the supervisory board of both companies. He was also a member of the supervisory board of the Barther sugar factory since 1893 and a member of the board of directors of the Zuckerhansa in Stralsund since its foundation. He was also involved in founding the Stralsunder Tageblatt GmbH and has been a member of the board since then.

Schlör was a member of the board of the iron and steel trade association.
