Franz Springer (composer)

Franz Springer (born December 22, 1881 in Schwendi , † June 23, 1950 in Stuttgart ) was a German composer and conductor .

As a student in the Benedictine monastery school in Prague , Czech Republic , he received thorough music lessons. Before the First World War he lived temporarily in Switzerland, where he played in various brass bands. He later settled in Stuttgart again. After the Second World War he directed the Uhlbach Music Association . His compositions for wind orchestra were very popular and played a great deal.
