Franz Staffa

Franz Staffa (born May 6, 1907 in Felixdorf ; † February 6, 1981 in Wiener Neustadt ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and community employee. Staffa was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria and from 1959 to 1962 a member of the national council .

Staffa attended primary school in Felixdorf, but from the age of ten was exempt from attending school due to illness. He completed an apprenticeship as a weaver and was subsequently active as a weaver in Felixdorf. As a result, he was also employed as a textile worker and construction worker. Staffa was involved in socialist youth organizations and was arrested for political reasons in 1934 and imprisoned in the Kaisersteinbruch detention camp and in the Wöllersdorf detention camp . During the Second World War he was conscripted in the arms industry, where he was arrested again in 1941 for political reasons. After the end of the Second World War Staffa was an employee of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees in Lower Austria.

Staffa worked from 1948 to 1952 and from 1955 to 1960 as a councilor in Felixdorf. He was the managing chairman of the Socialist Association of Community Representatives in Lower Austria and represented the SPÖ from December 12, 1945 to June 4, 1959 in the Lower Austrian state parliament. He was also a member of the National Council from June 9, 1959 to December 14, 1962.
