Franz Stocker

Franz Stocker (born May 1, 1933 in Raiding ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and electrician. Stocker was 1979-1983 member of the Bundesrat and 1983-1993 Member of the National Council .

education and profession

Stocker attended primary school from 1939 to 1944 and then secondary school between 1944 and 1945. Stocker then switched to secondary school, which he completed between 1945 and 1949. He then learned the profession of electrical installer from 1950 to 1953 and worked between 1953 and 1960 in the profession he had learned in Wiener Neustadt . He also attended the trade union school of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions and from 1955 to 1957 the foreman evening school . Between 1960 and 1993 he was an electrician for NEWAG (today Energieversorgung Niederösterreich , EVN).

Politician

Stocker was involved in the works council and from 1961 was a workers works council in NEWAG's Wiener Neustadt plant. Between 1965 and 1988 he was chairman of the workers' works council of NEWAG in the Wiener Neustadt works management and from 1976 to 1993 he was also chairman of the central works council. In the ÖVP, Stocker was district party chairman of the ÖVP Wiener Neustadt between 1980 and 1991, and between 1974 and 1989 he was a member of the Chamber of Labor and Employees for Lower Austria. In the union he was also active from 1971 as a member of the central board of the metal-mining-energy union, from 1978 he was also a member of the presidium of the metal-mining-energy union and chairman of the Christian trade unionist group (FCG) of the metal-mining union -Energy. In addition, he was a member of the board of the Austrian Trade Union Confederation from 1979 to 1991 and vice-chairman of the metal-mining-energy trade union between 19870 and 1992.

Stocker represented the ÖVP from June 5, 1979 to May 18, 1983 in the Federal Council and from May 19, 1983 to December 16, 1993 in the National Council.
