Franz Theodor Usteri

Franz Theodor Usteri (born June 10, 1853 in Zurich ; † June 13, 1929 there ) was a Swiss lawyer and board member.

Life

Franz Theodor Usteri was the son of the Zurich city council and businessman Johann Martin Usteri (1812–1865) and his wife Marie Sophie, b. Dürr (1825-1911). His brother was Franz Eduard Usteri (1851–1928), later President of the City Council of Zurich; he was also a great-grandson of the manufacturer Johann Martin Usteri (1754–1829).

In 1873 he began studying law at the University of Zurich , which he finished on August 4, 1876. With his dissertation The basics of inheritance law in their historical development , he received his doctorate on July 28, 1877. jur. From 1877 to 1879 he stayed in Paris and London .

In 1880 he became court substitute in Zurich and was the police commissioner of Zurich from 1890 to 1893, then he was substitute for the city ​​clerk and head of the city ​​archives .

After he converted to the Catholic faith, he was actively involved in various charitable Catholic institutions.

He was also a long-time director of the Neue Zürcher Nachrichten .

Franz Theodor Usteri was with Maria Margaretha Magdalena, born in 1886. Schuler (1865–1936) married. His son Karl Georg Usteri (born February 17, 1895; † unknown) became parish vicar in Chur in 1926 .
