Franz Thury

Franz Thury (born September 20, 1909 in Halbturn , † May 17, 1988 in Weiden am See ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and state official. Thury was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 1953 to 1956 .

Life

Thury was born as the son of the small farmer Paul Thury from Halbturn and attended elementary school in Halbturn. He worked as a mechanic in Vienna, where he attended a three-year mechanical engineering school. From April 8, 1929, Thury was a professional soldier in the Austrian Armed Forces and in 1938 was accepted into the German Wehrmacht . Until 1946 he was in the military or in American captivity. From 1947, Thury worked as a state official in Burgenland at the Neusiedl am See district authority .

Thury was married.

He joined the ÖVP in 1947 and became district chairman of the ÖAAB in the Neusiedl am See district. He represented the ÖVP between March 19, 1953 and June 11, 1956 in the Burgenland Landtag. In 1964 he retired to the pension.
